Tell 3 campaign
The ACLU's
national office is launching a campaign with Join the
Impact, PFLAG, the Equality Federation and several other
groups entitled “Tell 3.” The goal of the campaign is to
build support for LGBT equality by encouraging folks to have
three conversations with friends and family. There is a
website for the campaign,
www.tell-three.org,
which talks about why these conversations are important and
includes resource materials for starting conversations.
How can you help foster equality?
It's as easy as
1,
2,
3.
Pledge to
Tell 3 people what it's like for you or your loved ones
to be LGBT.
Why is it
important?
Across the country, people are
fired from their jobs, kids are bullied at school, and
same-sex couples can't foster children, adopt, or marry
because of their real or perceived sexual orientation or
gender identity.
How do I do
it?
It's simple.
Tell 3 people
about the struggles you or your loved ones have faced
because of sexual orientation or gender identity. That you
are tired of seeing people discriminated against for who
they love. That everyone deserves respect.
Can I make a
difference?
Yes!
Research shows that the best way to change hearts and minds
and get them to support equality is through conversations
about the lives and struggles of LGBT folks.
Visit www.tell-three.org for resources on how to start conversations, change minds, and foster equality.
